A new service to reduce the number of agricultural field trials

Site Similarity Certification (SSC) is meant to prove the comparability of cropping sites by the use of satellite imagery.

As part of a Biological Assessment Dossier for the purpose of the registration of a plant protection product SSC can be used for

• Bridging lack of data
  
• Substituting field trials
  
• Optimizing your strategic allocation of trial sites under the focus of variety and substitutability
  
• Conducting field trials for BAD in one year only under admission of northern and southern hemisphere and SSC
  
• Identifying trial sites with similar site characteristic (1 : n)
  
• Proving the similarity of sites across borders and across EPPO zones (1 : 1)
