ImageSSC

  • Data of an ImageSSC

    Your requirements

For the elaboration of a BAD, you wish to compare agricultural sites on the basis of objective satellite image data.

All data required by the EPPO such as climate and soil characteristics, temperature, precipitation, etc. are available. You need to prove that, may be phase-delayed, the biomass’ development during the period of pesticide application is similar.

    Data content of an ImageSSC

An ImageSSC is based on the analysis of purpose-processed satellite image data and verifies whether agricultural sites are similar.

The satellite image data reflect the development of the biomass and vitality of the host plants. The periods are examined during which the pest occurs and the plant protection product is applied. These periods may be staggered due to a possible shifting of the phenology phases in the two growing sites.

For both sites the satellite image data are analysed with regard to the similarity of level and development of biomass and vitality. As an indicator, the vegetation index NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) is analysed.

  • Positive outcome of an ImageSSC

    Your certificate contains

    • The regional cut-outs of the processed satellite images which are artificially coloured by the processing algorithms of our satellite image and IT professionals in order to display the changes in the biomass and its vitality. A legend explains the different colours.

    • The analysis of the vegetation index curves of both sites for the periods under examination, with the indication of the possible shift in the phenology phases.

    Your certificate also contains

    • the discussion and evaluation of the results of our analysis by our experienced agronomists and

    • for each pair of sites, the comprehensive assessment of our experts that the sites are “similar” or “not similar”.
